About the Park

The Hollis Equestrian Park property is owned by the Town of Hollis. It was formerly the town dump and as such is subject to sink holes that must filled every spring by the Friends of the Hollis Equestrian Park. The Friends of the Hollis Equestrian Park is a non-profit organization registered with the State of Maine. The Friends of the Hollis Equestrian Park has a multi-year lease with the Town of Hollis to operate and maintain the park. The Judge's Booths and storage trailer are owned by State of Maine Dressage Association (SMDA), a regular user of the park. The Manager’s Booth, jump equipment, barrels, drag and other fixtures and equipment are owned by HEP. For insurance reasons, everyone using the Park must be a member unless participating in a horse show. Various equestrian clubs rent the facility with their own insurance coverage. Members can use the Park on days that it is not rented out to equestrian clubs.

Trails

The Hollis Equestrian Park is located near the Massabesic Experimental Forest, which is land owned by the U.S. Forest Service and is open to the public for recreation. Please keep in mind that we only provide a place for parking and unloading horses and do not maintain the trails and are not responsible for trail conditions.
RIDE RESPONSIBLY AND AT YOUR OWN RISK.
The first part of the trail is on private property. These landowners have graciously allowed us to ride on their property but have requested no ATV use, no dogs, and no littering (that goes without saying!) Currently renegotiating permission. Please stay tuned.

Our Mission
